VIDEO: A Waukesha family is rebuilding after a devastating fire destroyed their home on Lombardi Way just after 11 a.m. on Christmas morning, leaving them with nothing but memories and the need to start over. “I looked out the window, and I seen big black smoke coming out. By the time I got off with 911, I heard all the sirens, so there must have been a lot of other people who called,” Dale Piippo, who called 911 said.
Hours after the fire broke out, the scene was one of total loss, with three cars and the home completely destroyed. Instead of celebrating Christmas, the family is now preparing to rebuild.
“I heard my other half screaming for help and screaming my name,” DeAnna, one of the homeowners, said. Although she did not want to show her face due to burns, she shared that she was able to escape the smoke-filled house along with her husband and daughter. Tragically, they lost two cats in the fire.
