Wednesday marked the grand opening of Peshtigo’s newly-expanded fire station, emergency medical services (EMS) facility and library. Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers joined local leaders for the ribbon cutting celebration, which was held during National EMS Week. The expansion was funded, in part, by a $3 million grant awarded to the city through Evers’ Neighborhood Investment Fund grant program.
Features of the expanded facility include additional storage space, a dedicated EMS room, a new staff kitchen and meeting space. There’s also resources to bolster support services for kids, families and seniors in the community and help address the fire department’s need for additional space as they integrate local EMS into their services.
