Janesville Fire Department receives $30K grant for new fire safety equipment

VIDEO: The Janesville Fire Department has received a significant boost in its fire safety resources. Thanks to a grant of more than $30,000 from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, the department is now equipped with new lifesaving equipment.

This grant will provide the department with a fire extinguisher system, laser extinguisher, and accessories. These tools will enable first responders to offer fire safety training and education to the Janesville community and surrounding areas. A celebration for the grant award, including a check presentation and equipment demonstration took place Thursday at Firehouse Subs in Janesville. The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, established in 2005, supports first responders and public safety organizations across the U.S. and Canada. The foundation has awarded over $96 million to date.
