One person is dead after a fire early Saturday that destroyed part of a home in the town of Mosinee, according to the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were called at about 12:08 a.m. Oct. 25 to a report of a structure fire on Dalton Drive, where they found the garage and rear portion of the residence fully engulfed.
The Mosinee Fire Department and Mosinee Police Department were already on scene and working to extinguish the blaze. After the fire was brought under control, investigators discovered one person dead inside the home, officials said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Authorities have not released the victim’s name, and no additional information is being released out of respect for the person’s family.
