PHOTOS: Firefighters battled a trio of Kaukauna-area vegetation fires Wednesday. Around 2:40 p.m. the Vandenbroek-Kaukauna Fire Department was called to 41 Southbound and County JJ following several reports of a fire. Upon arriving on scene, crews determined three separate fires were actively burning in the general area. The fires were successfully contained and extinguished from the frontage road and the scene was cleared in just under one hour. At this point, the cause of the fires is still undetermined, but officials are reminding the public to properly dispose of smoking materials to help prevent similar incidents.
