Crews fight fire in Point Beach State Forest in Two Rivers

PHOTOS: As of 7 p.m., officials said crews were conducting overhaul and mop-up operations and extinguishing embers in and beneath surrounding vegetation. All units were expected to clear the scene soon.

Numerous agencies responded and used various types of equipment, including tracked UTVs equipped with small fire pumps, UTVs and brush trucks to transport firefighters into the fire area and specialized wildland firefighting gear and equipment.

“This incident serves as an important reminder to the public to use caution with outdoor activitiesโ€”such as campfires, burning leaves, or operating equipment in wooded areasโ€”and to always check local burn restrictions before burning. Even a small spark can quickly spread under dry or windy conditions,” the City of Two Rivers Fire Department said in a news release.
