Brown Deer apartments damaged by fire, vacant due to summer flooding

VIDEO: A fire damaged multiple Brown Deer apartments near Teutonia Avenue and Dean Road on Nov. 22, according to North Shore Fire and Rescue. The fire department said they were dispatched to the area just before 2 p.m. First responders arrived within minutes and saw fire emerging from the roof of the 20-unit building.

The fire department said additional resources were requested. The building was vacant because crews were trying to repair it after damage from this summer’s historic flooding in August, the fire department said.

Roughly four units were damaged from the fire, according to North Shore Fire and Rescue. The Brown Deer Police Department and North Shore Fire and Rescue are still investigating the cause of the fire.
