The New Berlin Fire Department is investigating a garage fire that left two firefighters minorly injured Saturday, Oct. 11 along W. Foxwood Dr. Crews were dispatched around 4 p.m. to a residential fire where neighbors reported hearing an explosion before seeing smoke coming from the attached garage.
The owners of the residence were out of town during the incident. First crews on scene saw light smoke coming from the garage door and quickly gained entry through the garage door and located the fire ultimately preventing it to spread into the living quarters of the residence.
Two firefighters suffered minor injuries and were treated on scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
