One person is dead and another severely injured in an early morning house fire in Adams County Thursday. Emergency crews were called to a home on the 1000 block of Edgewood Ave in the town of Easton around 1:40 a.m. for a report of a house fire. Initial reports indicated people were possibly trapped inside.
When crews arrived, they found the home on fire. One person was able to escape but had significant injuries. They were airlifted to UW Health University Hospital, where they remain in critical condition. Another person was found dead inside the home. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
