Crews were on the scene of a large woods fire in the Olanta area on Saturday, according to the Florence County Fire Rescue (FCFR).
Just before 3:30 p.m., firefighters arrived at Central Road behind McKenzieโs Auto Repair to find an uncontrolled wildfire.
Due to the circumstances of the fire, multiple units combined their efforts, including the South Carolina Forestry Commission, which provided a forestry plow, FCFR said.
Law enforcement from the Forestry Commission was also requested to investigate the cause, as it was considered suspicious.
The incident is active, and no further information is available at this time.
