Emergency crews are responding to fires in Haywood County and on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
According to the North Carolina Wildfire Public Viewer, the Panther Creek Fire is estimated to be about 70 acres and 60% contained.
Haywood officials say that both sides of Panther Creek are currently closed due to an active fire near the 2800 block of Panther Creek.
Haywood County officials say that emergency crews are on the scene. The county is asking people to avoid the area to allow crews to work.
Visitors on the Blue Ridge Parkway are being advised to leave the parkway between Rattlesnake Lodge and Ox Creek immediately as emergency crews respond to a brush fire, according to a Facebook post from Buncombe County Government.
Buncombe County officials are advising people to avoid the area and continue to refrain from outdoor burning.
The North Carolina Wildfire Public Viewer shows the Ox Creek Fire is 40% contained and has grown a little more than 10 acres.
