Nearly a year after what Livingston Fire Chief Chris Mullin called the “Great Livingston Wildfire” of 2024, members of the Livingston Fire Department recently received “Wildland Fire Training for Structural Firefighters” from Todd Saccheiro, Section Forest Fire Warden from the New Jersey Forest Fire Service.
The course covered essential topics such as structural hazard classification, required vegetation clearances, and forest fire operations. This training was held at the Eisenhower Corporate Park Auditorium, located at 290 West Mt. Pleasant Avenue, and was made possible through the cooperation of Eastman Management Corporation, a continuous supporter of Livingston Emergency Services.
“I thank the members of the N.J. Forest Fire Service for their assistance last year during our major wildfire, and especially Fire Warden Todd Sacchiero for providing this recent training,โ said Mullin.
This training was held within a week of the one-year anniversary of an unprecedented industrial wildfire that spanned 192 acres in the forested area north of Industrial Parkway and west of Eisenhower Parkway in Livingston.
