Crews in Talladega contained a fire in the Renfroe area overnight after it began Sunday afternoon.
Video footage from Christy Wesson showed heavy smoke in the area.
Officials were able to contain the fire by 2 a.m. Monday morning.
The City of Talladega posted that crews from the Alabama Forestry Commission, Talladega Fire Department and local volunteer fire units were called to the wildland fire in the Renfroe area of Talladega County, just west of the city of Talladega.
The Alabama Forestry Commission said at least two of their units were working to contain the blaze, which was estimated to be more than 100 acres.
The public was urged to avoid the area.
