Dads Creek Fire ignites in Oregon, prompts evacuation notice

VIDEO: A wildfire, named the Dads Creek Fire, has erupted in Douglas County near Glendale. The blaze is currently burning along Lower Cow Creek Road, just west of Glendale.

A Level 1 – “Be Ready” evacuation notice remains in effect for some homes near the Dads Creek Fire, burning on Lower Cow Creek Road near Glendale. In coordination with structural and wildland fire agencies, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has issued the Level 1 evacuation notice for all addresses between 30482 – 31302 Lower Cow Creek Road.

Originally beginning Sunday, August 31, around 9 p.m., crews from the Douglas Forest Protective Association (DFPA) and other rural firefighting agencies began an aggressive initial attack on a fast-paced timber and grass fire near the 30400 block of Lower Cow Creek Road. Additional ordered resources have arrived, including assistance from neighboring districts such as ODF Southwest, ODF South Cascade, and the Coos Forest Protective Association.
