VIDEO: On October 5, 2024, wildfires ravaged Northwest North Dakota. A documentary is being shown through October at the State Historical Society, showcasing the stories of emergency responders and producers.
The wildfires burned more than 120,000 acres.
Alison Vetter of the North Dakota Department of Emergency Services (NDDES) believes the documentary allowed responders and producers to open up and get some closure about the traumatic experiences they faced.
โNo one wants to claim their own heroism, but you just see, the frankly beautiful way that people came together and communities came together,โ said Vetter.
The “Remembering the Historic Wildfires” documentary is also playing on the N.D. Response Facebook Page and YouTube Channel.
