VIDEO: 140 firefighters from 19 different fire departments battled an intense grass fire Tuesday in Door County.
Chief Curt Vanderite with The Brussels-Union-Gardner Fire Department told WISN 12 News the initial call came in just before 3 p.m.
A resident reported an ATV caught fire in a wooded area.
Chief Vanderite said the flames quickly spread and even jumped a road.
Crews from Door, Kewaunee, and Brown Counties all responded.
They used ATVs and drones to fight the flames.
After about four and a half hours, they got the flames out.
The chief said approximately 60 to 70 acres burned, but no buildings were damaged, and nobody was hurt.
