Male taken to GRMC after reported drowning at Ritidian

A male was taken to Guam Regional Medical City with CPR in progress after a reported drowning at Ritidian Point on Friday, Guam Fire Department spokesperson Capt. Nick Garrido said. GFD units responded to Ritidian Point at 1:33 p.m. Friday for a reported drowning, he said.

“CPR was initiated by bystanders prior to GFD arrival, once on scene personnel continued CPR and while en route to GRMC,” Garrido said. He said the male’s age is unknown.

This is the second time in two days GFD has had to transport someone to the hospital with CPR in progress after being in the water. A 51-year-old man was taken to Naval Hospital after he was located along the shoreline south of Fish Eye Marine Park in Piti Thursday afternoon “pulseless and breathless,” Garrido said.
