Guam Police Department: 5-vehicle crash in Dededo claims life of man

VIDEO/PHOTOS: A five-vehicle crash Monday night in Dededo claimed the life of Joey T. Santiago Jr., the Guam Police Department said in a statement late Tuesday night. Santiago, 36, of Yona, is Guam’s 17th traffic fatality this year. He was pronounced dead at 3:42 p.m. Tuesday by a Guam Regional Medical City nurse practitioner, according to the police.

GPD said it is investigating the now fatal crash that happened on Route 1 by the Guam Power Authority Dededo Combustion Turbine 1 & 2. GPD earlier said the crash was in Yigo. The Monday crash involved four passenger vehicles and a school bus. No students were in the bus at the time of the crash, GPD said. One man was transported to Naval Hospital, while Santiago and a woman were transported to GRMC, GPD said.
