Ribbon cutting held in South Charleston for mobile EMS training unit

VIDEO: An old ambulance is getting a new chance to help train future EMTs and paramedics. On Wednesday, BridgeValley Community and Technical College in South Charleston cut the ribbon on their new mobile EMS training unit. Itโ€™s a repurposed ambulance thatโ€™s been fully transformed into a functional mobile classroom and simulation lab. The unit will bring hands-on EMS training directly to high school students in rural communities, especially those with limited access to traditional EMS education. โ€œVery thankful that they did choose Clay County as their pilot program, and I truly hope that is something that we can make them and the West Virginia Department of Education proud along with the community that we serve, because we have one ambulance that I know of that is in town and many roads to cover,โ€ said Mandy Price, a high school educator in Clay County.
