The Stevens County Fire District No. 1, Spokane County Fire District 9 and Deer Park Ambulance responded to a reported vehicle fire in the 6300 Blk. of Hwy 291. According to District 1, the crew discovered a 5th wheel RV fully involved and off the highway upon arrival. The fire spread to a second RV and a couple stacks of lumber. The crews faced the challenges of scarce water, distant hydrants, exploding cans and venting propane tanks. Three engines and three water tenders were able to bring the fire under control.
