PHOTOS: Firefighters rescued a man and his dog after finding them stranded on the riverbank near Riverfront Park. The Spokane Fire Department says crews were dispatched to Riverfront Park around 5:30 p.m. on Monday for a report of a person and a dog in the water, prompting a significant response. Upon arrival, crews found that no one was in the water. However, a man and his dog were found uninjured and stranded over the bank and unable to climb back up the steep hillside. Firefighters activated their Technical Rescue Team, who successfully assisted the man and his dog back to safety just over an hour after arrival at the scene. After a quick examination, both were found to have only minor scratches and a few bee stings.
