VIDEO: A massive fire broke out at a lumber mill near Camas on Sunday evening near the Evergreen Highway. The fire started around 6:30 p.m., and by 7:30 p.m. at least 20 fire crews were battling the flames, and traffic on a nearby railroad track was shut down, officials said. On Monday, a representative from the Vancouver Fire Department reported that the fire was called in by a boater who saw smoke coming from the lumber mill. They said that while mill staff were on-site during the fire, there were no reported injuries. However, the mill sustained โsubstantialโ damage. Water had to be pumped from a nearby river due to a water supply issue, according to the Vancouver FD. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
