A 67-year-old man was killed in a fiery crash early Wednesday on northbound Interstate 5 near Grand Mound.
According to Washington State Patrol Trooper Kameron Watts, the incident occurred shortly before 7 a.m. when a single vehicle rolled over and became engulfed in flames. The man, who was the sole occupant of the car, was extricated and confirmed dead at the scene.
While emergency responders were at the crash scene, a fire truck was hit by a semi-truck. No one in the fire truck was hurt.
The crash led to significant backups, with two lanes closed and traffic stretching several miles.
