Spokane County firefighters are investigating the cause of a house fire on Midway Road in Mead. Robert Gray, the public information officer for Spokane County Fire District 9, said firefighters were called to the scene at 8:15 a.m., after the homeowner noticed smoke inside the home.
When the department arrived, it took about twenty minutes to find the fire, Gray said. The fire was eventually found in the attic and was knocked down. The home is still livable and no injuries were reported, Gray said. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
