PHOTOS: Several first responders provided aid in rescuing an injured minor who fell from a cliff face near Riverview Bible Camp in Pend Oreille County. Pend Oreille County Fire District 2 said around 3 p.m. on Saturday, crews responded to an area accessible only by foot in the national forest near the camp, where three people, two minors and one adult, were stuck and one of the children was injured. Rescue teams navigated through dense brush and steep terrain to reach the three people. Several crews from various fire districts and the Pend Oreille County Sheriff’s Office were able to stabilize the injured patient and prepare him for extraction. The fire district says a U.S. Air Force helicopter from Fairchild Air Force Base arrived and lowered a medic to airlift the patient from the mountain to a safe landing zone before he was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
