A brush fire along I-90 near the eastbound Oakes Road off-ramp through Cle Elum was slowing traffic on the freeway. Firefighters from Kittitas County Fire District 7 (KCFD7) received assistance from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) with a dozer and two aircraft. Additional resources, including tenders and support from neighboring fire districts, were requested to help contain the blaze. Fire crews have stopped forward progress, according to KCFD7. The blaze grew to nearly five acres.
