Red Cross assists family after Virginia Beach fire displaces 4

One adult and three children were displaced from their home after a fire in the 4600 block of Truman Lane in Virginia Beach on Sunday evening. The fire was reported at 5:39 p.m., according to the Virginia Beach Fire Department. When crews arrived at the two-story residence at 5:42 p.m., heavy smoke and flames could be seen coming from the second floor. The fire was marked under control at 5:51 p.m. and marked out at 5:55 p.m. The American Red Cross is helping the family with temporary housing. There were no injuries to civilians, firefighters or pets. The fire was determined to be accidental and originated in the fan of a second-story bathroom.
