PHOTOS: The Lynchburg Fire Department announced a new fundraising partnership with the Lynchburg Humane Society on Tuesday.
The collaboration entails a fundraising campaign for a special 2025 ornament, with half of the proceeds benefiting the Lynchburg Fire Department Museum and the other half benefiting the lost and homeless pets at LHS.
โThe Lynchburg Humane Society is honored to collaborate with the Lynchburg Fire Department on this meaningful holiday keepsake. This special ornament symbolizes our shared commitment to protecting lives โ whether they walk on two legs or four. Itโs a beautiful way for the community to celebrate the season while supporting the vital work our organizations do,โ said Jill Mollohan, LHSโs Executive Director.
The ornament features a Dalmatian, Smoky, wearing a fire hat and carrying a hose to celebrate the history of the working dog in fire departments. On one side of the dogโs blanket is the LFD logo, and on the other is the LHS logo.
