Fire rages through home in Fairfax County, causes $108K+ damage

VIDEO: No one was hurt after a large fire raged through a home in Fairfax County Monday night, leaving thick smoke billowing over the community.

The fire broke out just before 7 p.m. on Dec. 1 in the 4700 block of Twinbrook Road in the Kings Park West area.

The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department said that when crews arrived, they found flames at the back of the house.

The fire department shared a video from the scene on social media, showing part of the home fully engulfed in flames. Thick clouds of smoke billowed over the home, and smoke could be seen rising from the roof of the home.

It was later revealed that no one was home when the blaze ignited, and a neighbor who discovered the fire called 911, according to officials.

During the investigation, FCFRD’s Office of the Fire Marshal determined that the fire originated from construction materials that were left at the back of the house.
