VIDEO: A Virginia congressman has introduced legislation that would name a Sterling post office after Loudoun County firefighter Trevor Brown, who died in a house explosion last year.
“Firefighter Brown touched so many lives in our community and made the ultimate sacrifice in service to it,” Congressman Suhas Subramanyam said. “This has been a hard time for his family, for our community, and for the Sterling Volunteer Fire Company. My hope is that when people see his name on this post office, they will remember the sacrifice he made and be inspired to serve the way he did.”
Roger Bentley, a former propane technician, was convicted of manslaughter in connection with the death of Brown, a volunteer firefighter who coached soccer and baseball and left behind three kids. Prosecutors said that Bentley ignored clear warning signs of a gas leak. They said his failure to act led to Brown’s death.
