VIDEO: Albemarle County Fire Rescue Recruit School held its graduation Thursday afternoon at Monticello High School, highlighting the work of its graduating firefighters. โWeโre going to put 22 new firefighters in the field to serve the community,โ said Heather Childress, Deputy Chief of Member Services at Albemarle County Fire Rescue. Weโre always excited about that. We have some new service thatโs going to start soon, in terms of a ladder truck and a new engine, so these new firefighters will help us put those trucks in service.โ ACFR says the graduating firefightersโ training consisted of a multitude of subjects related to firefighting, from Emergency Medical Technician and firefighter survival skills to learning how to install a car seat. โWe give them all the certifications they need to be fully functioning firefighter EMTs,โ Childress explained.
