Stowe Mountain Rescue assisted Cambridge Fire Department with a situation earlier this week, where one person on the Sterling Pond Trail sustained significant injuries. Rescue workers say that the male subject had sustained these injuries after suffering from a โnasty face plant.โ SMR also notes that the subject was unsteady on his feet, and reluctant to accept a litter evacuation when responders reached him.
According to one SMR post, the male subject โtried walking but his injuries forced him to reconsider, at which point we sprang into action with the litter.โ This subject was reportedly carried to safety. SMR reminds the public that support tools, like collapsible walking poles, can prevent injury while providing support in the event of some injuries.
