Stowe Mountain Rescue, Cambridge Fire assist hiker on Sterling Pond Trail

Stowe Mountain Rescue assisted Cambridge Fire Department with a situation earlier this week, where one person on the Sterling Pond Trail sustained significant injuries. Rescue workers say that the male subject had sustained these injuries after suffering from a โ€œnasty face plant.โ€ SMR also notes that the subject was unsteady on his feet, and reluctant to accept a litter evacuation when responders reached him.

According to one SMR post, the male subject โ€œtried walking but his injuries forced him to reconsider, at which point we sprang into action with the litter.โ€ This subject was reportedly carried to safety. SMR reminds the public that support tools, like collapsible walking poles, can prevent injury while providing support in the event of some injuries.
