A shed fire in Tooele Wednesday night spread to destroy three sheds, damage five homes, and injure two people. A fire started around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in a neighborhood in Tooele near 663 N Carr Fork, damaging five homes and completely destroying three sheds. Two people were injured with burns. One person transported themselves to the hospital and is currently being treated at the University of Utah Hospital, according to what family told ABC4.com. The other injured person was treated at the scene.
According to Tooele Fire Captain Bryan Steward, someone was cooking in the backyard shortly before the fire sparked. They believe it started as a shed fire, then quickly spread due to the close proximity of the homes and windy and dry conditions. One of the homeowners affected spoke to ABC4.com. Greg Dunnโs shed in his backyard was burnt down, and he thought he was going to lose his entire home, which he just finished paying off. Dunn, his wife, and dog were evacuated by crews, and they ran across the street. โThank you to the first responders. I mean, from the bottom of my heartโฆ We could have lost everything,โ he said.
