Snow-covered roof adds challenge as firefighters battle Oakley blaze

PHOTOS: Firefighters battled a structure fire in the town of Oakley, which they described as challenging due to the steep, snow-covered roof that posed a slipping hazard.

Wasatch Fire posted about the response on social media, saying that at 8 p.m. on Dec. 29, South Summit Fire was notified of the structure fire. Wasatch Fire provided aid along with Park City Fire and North Summit Fire to help access the roof.

โ€œThe fire was quickly knocked down interior; however, it spread to the roof and attic space. This was particularly challenging due to the high vaulted ceiling, as well as the roof itself being corrugated metal,โ€ the post read.

The fire was eventually controlled, and the cause is under investigation.
