VIDEOS/PHOTOS: A fire broke out at a pet food manufacturing plant in Ogden on Thursday. Firefighters happened to be passing by the Alphia factory when they noticed smoke coming from the building, according to Ogden City Fire Deputy Chief Matt Hess. After asking a forklift driver about it and doing some investigating, they confirmed the fire. Crews entered the facility and discovered that an oven used to make dog biscuits was on fire.
The Ogden City Fire Department shared details of the incident on social media. They said firefighters responded to an industrial fire on the 2900 block of Wall Avenue. They also urged the public to avoid the area to help ensure the safety of emergency responders. Everyone was evacuated and fire crews got to work. But industrial fires like this one come with some complications. โThese ovens have ductwork, obviously, that goes to all different places throughout the building,โ Hess said.
