VIDEOS: Police body cam video showed the scene of the chaotic explosion that happened over the weekend in Herriman. 2News obtained more than 20 minutes of the body cam footage, which showed police responding to the crash and explosion before even firefighters arrived. One video started with a Herriman officer who arrived at the scene to find someone injured, as well as the unmistakable sound of escaping gas. He ran toward the large stream of flames, and the footage showed a close look at the car inside the building and the fire shooting out.

He ran back to check on the injured woman and held her hand while she was reassured. โ€œYouโ€™re going to be okay. Weโ€™re going to take care of you, alright?โ€ Someone said to the woman as she lay on the ground. Family members of the victims showed up, and they tried to sort out the chaos. โ€œWhat happened?โ€ one of them asked the officer. โ€œAs of right now, we donโ€™t know,โ€ he responded. โ€œBasically, as soon as I got here about 10 seconds after they called in, the car was in the building, and some people had dragged them out.โ€

A person who appeared to have been burned was loaded onto a stretcher. โ€œThis is daughter,โ€ the officer said to a medic. โ€œIโ€™m right here,โ€ she said to the man on the stretcher. โ€œOh, baby,โ€ he said back to her. While all this happened on one side, video from another officer showed firefighters heading to the building. Then, the explosion happened. Both officers were looking away from it when it happened, but a viewer’s video showed the roof of the building getting blown into the air.
