VIDEO: One person is dead and another was critically injured after a small plane crashed in the Albion Basin area near Alta early Sunday evening. The Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office confirms the crash occurred around 5:20 p.m. Sunday evening, with two people on board at the time of the crash. Witnesses were hiking in the area at the time of the crash, and Unified Fire Authority and the Alta Marshal’s office were first on scene. The Sheriff’s Office confirms one person died in the crash and another was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition.
