I-15 Semi-truck fire forces on-ramp closure in Salt Lake City

PHOTOS: A semi-truck fire forced the closure of a collector ramp on I-15 in Salt Lake City. The fire started from the truck’s brakes just after 4 a.m. on Monday near 2100 South, according to Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Cameron Roden.

Roden said the brake fire caused some damage to the interstate but said it was “nothing major.” The driver of the semi-truck was uninjured in the fire, and no other vehicles were involved. Emergency responders immediately closed the collector ramp 2100 South. By 8:30 a.m., Roden said at least one lane on the ramp had been reopened.
