Blue Creek Fire breaks out in remote part of Zion National Park in Southern Utah

PHOTOS: Wildfire broke out in a remote part of Zion National Park in Southern Utah with limited access. The Blue Creek Fire ignited Tuesday afternoon in the right fork of North Creek trail in Washington County. State fire officials said the fire was estimated at about 0.10 acres but was in a place where access was difficult. Firefighters had to make an estimated 5-mile hike to get to where the flames were burning. The state’s Diamond Fork aerial firefighting team were headed to the area. Details about the cause of the fire were unavailable. No structures were threatened.
