Whitewright 18 year-old earning EMT certification before graduating high school

VIDEO: Ambulance sirens and flashing lights means fire and rescue crews are rushing to aid people in pain or panic. Thatโ€™s the place to be, for 18 year-old Raygan Latimer. Latimer has taken three dual-credit classes to get an EMT certification while attending Whitewright High School. She says itโ€™s not easy work but itโ€™s all worth all the hours she and all EMTs put into the job. โ€œItโ€™s not an easy job to do and itโ€™s definitely a lot of work with the medications and bones and everything you have to learn,โ€ said Latimer. โ€œAs an EMT I had to do a 12 hour shift in the hospital and three 12 hour shifts on the box.โ€ โ€œOn the boxโ€ refers to hours spent in training on the back of an ambulance.
