Firefighters worked to put out flames at a vacant commercial building that caught fire in east Houston Friday night. The two-alarm fire was burning at the building near the intersection of Avenue B and 73rd Street in the Magnolia Park neighborhood.
From Air 11, we saw the building fully engulfed in flames. During our live streaming coverage, we saw the flames getting knocked down by firefighters until there were only hotspots.
Meteorologist Chris Ramirez said there were wind gusts between 10 and 15 miles per hour in the area fanning the flames, but it appears fire crews kept the fire from spreading to nearby homes. The good news – firefighters say no one was hurt. At this point, we don’t know the cause of the fire.
