VIDEO: A small airplane went down in Manor Friday morning, according to officials. The Travis County ESD No. 2 and Travis County ESD No. 12 said crews responded to the scene at around 10:45 a.m. after a plane hit the ground near the 14000 block of Fuchs Grove Road, roughly six miles southeast of the Austin Executive Airport.
ESD No. 12 said fire crews discovered the plane โ a Piper PA-46 coming from Gillespie County Airport, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) โ experienced engine failure en route to Austin Executive. The pilot was able to bring the plane down in a field on private property off Fuchs Grove. Two people were aboard the plane, but no injuries were reported. In addition to ESDs No. 2 and 12, representatives from the Austin Executive Airport and the Texas Department of Public Safety also responded to the scene. ESD No. 2 also reported Travis County STAR Flight assisted. As of 2 p.m. Friday, the scene has been secured and cleared of first responders. The FAA says it will investigate the incident.
