Multiple homes destroyed in massive fire on San Antonio’s west side, officials say

VIDEO: San Antonio firefighters battled a massive fire that spread to multiple homes on the west side early Monday. It happened around 5 a.m. in the 2200 block of El Paso Street near Guadalupe Street.ย Firefighters arrived to find flames coming from the attic of the home. First responders say the home is vacant.ย The first home was reduced to rubble from the quick-moving fire, which then spread to another home that is also a total loss, according to the battalion chief. The two occupants of the second home were able to escape without injuries. A third structure suffered some damage as well. โ€œThe original house was fully involvedโ€ฆthere was no electricity going to itโ€ฆwe got a lot of reports of homeless going in and out to it โ€“ starting fires all the time,” Battalion Chief Edward Rohmer said.
