VIDEO: A firefighter has been taken to the hospital for evaluation after a crash involving a fire truck at the intersection of W. Adams Avenue and N. 3rd Street in Temple. According to Temple Fire Chief Mitch Randles, the fire truck was on its way to a car fire on Ave M. when it was hit by a dump truck.
Randles said one firefighter was injured and was taken to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center for evaluation as a non-emergency. The Temple Police Department said both vehicles sustained “moderate damage”. No other injuries have been reported at this time. Randles said the truck was from the Central Fire Station, but is a temporary truck because the original engine is being serviced. The intersection of W. Adams Avenue and N. 3rd Street in Temple has now been reopened.
