Fire guts Jasper home as family escapes unscathed

The Jasper Texas Volunteer Fire Department had to work quickly to extinguish a house fire early Sunday morning. Jasper VDF received a call about a blaze at County Road 168 in the Ryall Acres subdivision just after midnight. Arriving units found fire burning through the roof of the north end and rear of the home. With the help of the Beach Grove Volunteer Fire Department, firefighters were eventually able to get the blaze under control. Luckily the family inside the home was able to escape unscathed according to Jasper VDF, and no injuries were reported. However, the home did suffer extensive fire damage.
