Fire crews contain blaze in unoccupied Corpus Christi home

An early morning fire kept several local fire crews busy on Saturday. Crews from the Corpus Christi Fire Department, Nueces County ESD 2, and NAS Fire all responded to a two-story house fire on Scarlet Oak Drive. When they arrived, smoke was showing from the second floor and firefighters quickly discovered flames in the attic. The home was under renovation and unoccupied at the time, but it did suffer heavy damage. Investigators are now working with the homeowners and fire personnel to determine what caused the blaze.
