Beaumont EMS ambulance on way to call involved in wreck leaving 1 medic in ICU

VIDEO: Police are investigating after an ambulance overturned while on the way to a call Monday in Beaumont. A Beaumont EMS ambulance ended on it’s side at the intersection of Sarah St and Fannett Rd on the south end of Beaumont just after 11 a.m., according to dispatch records. The driver of an SUV involved in the wreck was cited for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, according to Beaumont Police Sgt Tom Swope. The ambulance, carrying three medics, was headed South on 11th St as it headed to a call, according to Beaumont Fire Chief Earl White. Its lights and sirens were activated he told 12News. No patient was being transported at the time, he said. But according to the Beaumont Professional Firefighters Union all three medics went to the hospital and one is currently in ICU.
