Austin Fire Department investigating after ‘abandoned structure’ fire

The Austin Fire Department said a fire was out after crews responded to a report of a structure fire in southeast Austin Monday. No injuries were reported, according to AFD. The agency said on social media around 7 p.m. it responded to the 7800 block of Burleson Road for a report of “black smoke coming from” the structure. When units arrived on the scene, they initially reported it was a “residential structure on fire and residents evacuating.” Around 7:30 p.m., AFD said the fire was knocked down, and it conducted “multiple searches of the residence” and did not find anything. Crews continued searching for “any additional fire” and said it was “ventilating the structure.”
