Austin Fire Department investigating after ‘abandoned structure’ fire

The Austin Fire Department said a fire was out after crews responded to a report of a structure fire in southeast Austin Monday. No injuries were reported, according to AFD. The agency said on social media around 7 p.m. it responded to the 7800 block of Burleson Road for a report of โ€œblack smoke coming fromโ€ the structure. When units arrived on the scene, they initially reported it was a โ€œresidential structure on fire and residents evacuating.โ€ Around 7:30 p.m., AFD said the fire was knocked down, and it conducted โ€œmultiple searches of the residenceโ€ and did not find anything. Crews continued searching for โ€œany additional fireโ€ and said it was โ€œventilating the structure.โ€
