Amarillo Fire Department sends crew for wildfire standby in Mineral Wells

VIDEO: The Amarillo Fire Department sent its Wildland Team Tuesday for a wildfire standby assignment in Mineral Wells, Texas. The crew has been deployed for 14 days and includes four Amarillo Fire Department members who responded with Grass 11. Officials say the deployment comes as crews around the state have responded to 19 wildfires over the past week.

โ€œOur Wildland Team stands ready to assist in protecting communities and natural resources during this heightened fire season. We are proud of their unwavering commitment to serving not just Amarillo, but the entire state when called upon,โ€ according to an Amarillo Fire Department statement. Mineral Wells is located about 50 miles west of Fort Worth.
