VIDEO: Two dogs unaccounted for after house fire in Morristown, home likely a total loss

Two dogs are missing, but everyone got out of the home safely after a fire in Morristown on Sunday, authorities said. Officials with the Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office said they worked at the scene of the fire, and it is likely a total loss.

Statworth Collins, a patrol lieutenant with the department, said the center of the house completely collapsed and the back walls fell in.

He said officials were called to that fire around 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, and that the fire was already put out when he left several hours later, but crews were still looking for hot spots โ€” or other areas of the home likely to reignite โ€” as of 11:45 a.m.

Collins also added that it appeared as though the fire started on the back porch, where crews noted both a fire pit and a hot tub. Other authorities said that multiple agencies were on the scene of the fire this morning. Both those dogs are unaccounted for as of noon, according to officials.
